What does Forbes has to do with fashion? Well, that's pretty easy: every year Forbes announces the list of the 100 richest people in the world, who are the most powerful when it comes to money and success. And this list of 100 contains also some fashion moguls you are sure aware of, but haven't recognized on the list before. As I now study economics and that I love fashion, that's the perfect mixture. So here are the ones from Forbes, you should know ;-)
The third on the list of the 100 richest persons and the first to mention is AMANCIO ORTEGA, who gained up to $19.5 billion last year. The owner of Zara stepped down as the chairman of Inditex, but that doesn't margined his wealth.
The second good to know is BERNARD ARNAULT and family, who's net worth is about $29 billion. The owner of LVMH - Moet Henessy and Louis Vuitton - is not only famous because of the Speedy and Tote bags - he is the most influental tastemaker in the world (according to Forbes). And which brands does LVMH include? Guess it, sweeties ;-) These brands belong the the group: Louis Vuitton, Céline, Loewe, Berluti, Kenzo, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Emilio Pucci, Thomas Pink, Donna Karan, Edun, NOWNESS. Amazing, isn't it? :-)
The third in my list to know is STEFAN PERSSON, number 12 on the Forbes list, but first in Sweden, so guess what he's in? ;-) The chairman of Hennes and Mauritz - better known as H&M - is also the owner of a little village in Hampshire, England :-)
Goin on to the fourth, we come to the first lady in the list MIUCCIA PRADA, the third richest person in Italy and the owner of the luxury clothing and goods company Prada. While her husband manages the business things, she still works as the lead designer of the company.
The fifth, so the last but not least, is again an amazing lady, LILIANE BETTENCOURT, the richest in France and also on the 9th place on the Forbes list. Her father was the founder of L'oreal.
